A WOMAN accused of going on a spending spree with a dead person’s bank card has been given a trial date.
Jacqueline McGill, 27, is said to have stolen the bank card of Tammy Douglas from a property in Renfrew’s Hairst Street.
Along with 23-year-old Natalie Ingleby, she is alleged to have stolen the bank card some time between May 2 and May 15 last year and then used it for a number of purchases.
Prosecutors claim McGill and Ingleby spent a total of £415 on the card after using it at an Esso garage in Main Road, Elderslie, an Asda store in Paisley, Sandyflats Food Store in Bute Drive, Johnstone, a Sainsbury’s store in Kirkintilloch and elsewhere.
Ingleby also faces a single charge of possessing cannabis, a class-B drug, at an address in Rochdale Place, Kirkintilloch on May 8 this year.
When the case against McGill, of Bute Drive, Johnstone, called at Paisley Sheriff Court last week, a not guilty plea was entered in her absence and a trial was set for October, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for next month. The case against Ingleby, of Glasgow, was continued without plea until later this month.
