AN investigation has been launched after a teenager was seriously assaulted in Paisley.
The incident happened at around 3.45am on Tuesday when police were called to reports of a man injured in Netherhill Road in Gallowhill.
It is believed the 17-year-old man was knifed in the groin and was found bleeding in the road.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he is being treated for injuries to his lower body.
Detective Constable Robert Urquhart of Paisley Police Office said: “We are still working to establish the circumstances on this assault and get more information on the person responsible. We have been speaking to people in the area and officers are continuing to study CCTV footage.
“At this time I would ask any witnesses to this assault, or anyone with any information that may assist our investigation to contact Paisley Police Office through 101."
