OUR Pet of the Week is super-smiley Melvin, who is looking for a home to call his own.

Melvin was found straying the streets alone and is currently in the care of the SSPCA.

A spokeswoman for the SSPCA said: “He is a typical Staffie – full of fun and mischief. Melvin would need an active home where he can burn all of his energy off.

“When out walking, he can be strong on his lead and will need an owner who is able to handle him.

“Melvin doesn’t seem sure of all dogs he meets here at the centre. Due to this, we feel he would be best suited to an adult-only home where he is the only animal, so he can lap up all the attention.”

If you can offer Melvin a home, call the centre on 03000 999 999.
