A MAN is being prosecuted for allegedly hurling glass bottles and a table out of a first-floor flat and then having a rammy with police.
Alexander Anderson is said to have lost the plot at his flat in Dunn Street, Paisley.
He denies four charges relating to the alleged events of July 7 this year.
Prosecutors claim 30-year-old Anderson “culpably and recklessly” threw glass bottles and a table out of his window and onto the street below, to the danger of passers-by.
He is also charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive way by shouting and swearing at police officers and acting aggressively towards them.
Anderson also denies resisting arrest by tensing his arms and struggling violently with them and assaulting PC Stephen Knox by trying to headbutt him.
When the case against him called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court last week, not guilty pleas were entered in his absence.
A trial has been set for January, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for December.
