Determined pupils who showed a self-made DVD to Tony Blair in 2008 about how they tackled violent yobs were rewarded for their efforts.
Delighted kids at Auchenlodment Primary, in Johnstone, were recognised by school bosses for standing up to bullies.
And the school also received a glowing report card from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education following a visit in May that year.
Inspectors focused on the school’s links to the community as an example of good practice.
Pupils led a project called Standing Up To Anti-Social Behaviour and made a DVD which was shown to the former Prime Minister when he visited Johnstone Castle.
The project also showed pupils how to lead safe and healthy lives by working closely with Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and experts from Local Counselling for Alcoholism.
Headteacher Elaine Webster said at the time: “It is reassuring to read that the efforts and hard work of the school have been recognised and that we are well on our way on the journey to excellence.
“Particularly pleasing is the recognition of the respect that the school and community have for each other’s contribution.
“Our reputation as an actively pursuing success establishment has been enhanced and developed since the last inspection.”
