A LINWOOD schoolboy's dream came true when he was given a special tour of Johnstone Police Station.

Luke Kennedy, who attends Woodlands Primary, had previously been amazed when community officers Innes Walsh and Gordon Aitken turned up and allowed him to try on their kit and radios.

Eleven-year-old Luke had sent a letter to local officers to ask if he could have a chat and was over the moon when they answered his call in person.

The primary seven pupil has been obsessed with the police for years and has set his sights on a career spent putting bad guys away.

And officers shocked him further by inviting him to spend the day at the Johnstone station and watch them in action.

He was given a tour of the station, the chance to meet the officers, and even tried his hand at using some the police equipment.

The Gazette:

Luke had previously been surprised by a visit from PCs Innes Walsh and Gordon Aitken

Inspector Cassie Glass, based in Johnstone, said : "It was great to meet Luke today who was invited to visit our Office in Johnstone. Luke is keen to join the Police & sampled some of the roles available."
