Two men and a woman are facing trial accused of carrying out a baseball bat attack in Linwood.

Gareth Gilchrist, 43, Sharon Gilchrist, 39, and 37-year-old Mark Campbell are said to have attacked Robert Muir in Bridge of Weir Road and Cowal Drive on December 28, 2017.

Prosecutors claim they brandished the baseball bat at him, rained punches on his head, repeatedly kicked him on the body, pulled his hair and threw a metal frame at him.

They are also accused of striking him on the head and body with the baseball bat, leaving him badly hurt and permanently disfigured.

The case against the Gilchrists, of Bridge of Weir Road, and Campbell, of Kintyre Avenue, both Linwood, called for the first time in public at Paisley Sheriff Court last week for a pre-trial hearing.

All three pleaded not guilty and the case was continued until later this month.
