A GROUP of creative kids were feeling golden as they took part in an activity session in Johnstone.
St Paul’s Church played host to its monthly Saturday Sunshine Club, which welcomed youngsters to enjoy a host of crafts and games.
The children were also able to tuck into a dinner of cottage pie and then polish off some chocolate cake for dessert.
This month’s session followed a harvest theme, with some youngsters using leaves alongside autumnal colours in their creations.
On top of the arty activities, little ones were also able to make and decorate their own empire biscuits, using colourful icing and toppings.
The Sunshine Club gatherings are held on the third Saturday of every month as part of an outreach programme.
The aim is to help young people banish boredom and, at the same time, enjoy some independence from their parents.
Christine McCormack, a committee member at St Paul’s Church, said the monthly meetings have been a great success.
She added: “The latest event went really well and we had a good turnout.
“There were about 19 children and 13 adults who came along on the day and there were plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the free sessions, including parents who want to accompany their children.
