A THUG is facing jail for letting himself into his ex-girlfriend’s home uninvited and threatening her...by singing Blondie hit One Way Or Another.

Robert Fraser hadn’t seen former partner Amanda Chappell for a number of years but went to her home in Linwood last week and walked straight in after chapping the door.

Miss Chappell tried to get him to leave but he responded by singing the 1978 Blondie hit.

The details emerged when 46-year-old Fraser appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court.

He pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive way on Thursday, November 1, at Miss Chappell’s home in Cotton Avenue.

Procurator fiscal depute Frankie Morgan told the court: “He started to sing to the complainer the words to the song One Way Or Another.

“He was signing ‘One Way Or Another, I’m gonna get ya, get ya, get ya, get ya’ and he kept repeating the phrase ‘I’m gonna get ya’.”

Fraser then left but returned to the property on another two occasions, although he did not gain entry.

He was arrested nearby a short time later.

Defence solicitor Kirsty McGeehan said Fraser, of Seedhill Road, Paisley, had been placed on a Community Payback Order in 2016 and asked for him to be released on bail ahead of sentencing.

As she bailed him and deferred sentence until later this month, Sheriff Lindsey Kooner said: “This is a quite unusual and very concerning set of circumstances.

“It must have been very alarming.”
