A MAN is due to go on trial later this month after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a property in Renfrew.

Jason Docherty is said to have abused the woman, who can’t be named for legal reasons, in February this year.

Prosecutors claim 47-year-old Docherty grabbed her and struck her head against a wall, lay on top of her and forced his hand between her legs.

It is also claimed he ran at her, pushed her onto a bed, repeatedly made derogatory remarks to her and then touched her inappropriately against her will, leaving her injured.

Docherty is further accused of breaking a special bail condition not to approach or contact her by repeatedly banging on the door of her home, entering the property uninvited and threatening her on two occasions on June 25 this year.

And he is said to have behaved in a threatening or abusive way on two occasions on the same day by shouting, swearing, repeatedly striking her door, threatening her with violence, grabbing a mobile phone, dismantling it and throwing it against a wall.
