PRIME Minister Theresa May made a blunder ahead of visiting Renfrewshire yesterday...by telling the wrong MP she was coming.

Mrs May went on a tour round the Bridge of Weir Leather factory yesterday with Secretary of State for Scotland David Mundell, but did not tell Gavin Newlands, MP for the area, she was visiting his constituency.

Instead she told Mhairi Black, who represents Paisley and Renfrewshire South, she was coming to the area, meaning she and Mr Mundell were in breach of Commons convention.

Ms Black posted on Twitter: "I received an email from Theresa May' office an hour or before she arrived in Bridge of Weir, and haven't heard of her actually visiting anywhere in my constituency?

"Couldn't possible be that the Prime Minister didn't know Renfrewshire has two constituencies?"

Mr Newlands also took to Twitter and said: "David, any chance of you, or indeed the Prime Minister herself, notifying me that you are visiting my constituency?"
