AN investigation has been launched following a robbery at a Paisley petrol station.
At around 6.25am on Monday, a man went into the BP garage in Greenock Road and threatened a male member of staff with a weapon before demanding cigarettes.
The yob then ran off in the direction of Caledonia Court with a quantity of cigarettes.
Police say the member of staff was uninjured but badly shaken.
Officers have described the suspect as white, in his 30s and around 5ft 8 inches in height with dark coloured hair.
He was wearing a high viz vest and a black hooded jacket and was carrying a red holdall.
Detective Sergeant Alex Allardyce from Paisley Police Office said: "Enquiries are at an early stage into this robbery.
"Greenock Road is a busy thoroughfare and I would ask anyone who was in that area around the time of the incident who either witnessed anything suspicious or who has dash cam footage to contact officers."
Anyone with information should call officers on 101.
