RENFREWSHIRE Council is serving thousands of breakfasts to schoolkids every week, it has been revealed.
Morning clubs operating at 10 schools in the area are relieving financial pressure on low income families by offering free healthy breakfasts to pupils.
An average of 2,000 breakfasts are served every week, with a total of 201,000 served since the beginning of the project in 2016.

Meanwhile, a fund which helps parents cover the cost of the school day continues across all primary and secondary schools in Renfrewshire.

It directly supports families in a variety of ways, including helping with the cost of uniforms, food, transport and extra-curricular activities.
