TWINKLE-TOED volunteers are getting their dancing shoes on as they prepare for a Renfrewshire charity’s annual Strictly Come Prancing competition.

A total of 14 couples with little or no experience of dancing will line up for the contest in March, raising much-needed funds for the Howwood-based St Vincent’s Hospice.

They will take to the floor in an attempt to impress the judges and a live audience at the Ingliston Country Club and Hotel, in Bishopton.

Louise Strachan, the hospice’s senior fundraiser, said: “Strictly Come Prancing is a great, fun-filled evening which is one of the most popular in our fundraising calendar.

“Our twinkle-toed couples have been giving up time every week to train in preparation for the evening and we are so grateful to them for all their efforts.

“They are in the hands of Curtis Campbell and Rebecca Elliot, our star choreographers, who are putting everyone through their paces for the night and we cannot thank them enough for their outstanding contribution.”

The event takes place on Friday, March 15, and all funds raised will go directly towards helping the hospice provide palliative and end-of-life care.
