RAIL services were brought to a halt in Renfrewshire after a person was hit by a train.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 7pm on the rail route between Kilwinning and Johnstone.
Scotrail chiefs confirmed the accident but no further details are known on the condition of the person at this time.

A number of trains were cancelled due to the incident and a number of replacement buses were put in place.

These included rail services between Ardrossan Harbour and Glasgow Central, Ayr and Glasgow Central and Largs and Glasgow Central.
