A MAN was arrested in Renfrew for alleged drink-driving.
The 47-year-old was detained in Newmains Road at around 2am on New Year’s Day amid claims he was driving while under the influence.
Police said he was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court from custody on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man was arrested in Johnstone for alleged drink-driving, also on New Year’s Day.

That incident is said to have taken place in Park Road at around 1am and he was also due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Thursday.
