THE first acts have been announced for an exciting festival returning to Renfrewshire in March.

The two day Scottish Alternative Music Awards' Paisley Takeover will bring a wide mix of music workshops, seminars, live performances and more to the town.

The celebration of grassroots music proved a hit last year with the likes of Siobhan Wilson, SWAY, SPronto Mama and Paisley's own The Vegan Leather performing.

This year's organisers have announced today that Kathryn Joseph, C Duncan, and Sweaty Palms are the first names to confirm for the show, which will take place at the Paisley Art Centre and the Bungalow.

The full programme is set to be announced on Tuesday, January 22.

The SAMAs Paisley Takeover is ran in partnership with Renfrewshire Council, and Paisley First.

The two day festival will take place on 15 and 16 March.
