THE Paisley Town Hall is to open its doors to offer community groups the chance to pick up some unwanted furniture. 

Currently closed due to an impending £22m refurbishment, the historic landmark is full of surplus items that are no longer needed. 

Bosses at the hall are offering groups accross Renfrewshire the chance to head along and see if they can find furniture which would be of use to them.

Items available include folding chairs, desks, filing cabinets, mobile bars, and much more.

The doors will be open tomorrow from 9.30am until 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday to allow groups to go along and select anything they want. 

Groups must arrange their own transport of items as this is not part of the capital investment works.

Community groups will be responsible for the health and safety of anyone involved in the safe removal of items.

Furniture is exclusively offered to registered charities for the use of that charity.

Anyone attending on Friday or Saturday should bring proof of registered charity.
