A MAN is behind bars over claims he hoarded drugs and counterfeit cash at his Renfrewshire home.

James Kerr, 35, is said to have been caught with three different drugs and some fake notes at his flat in Argyle Street, Paisley.

Prosecutors claim he was in possession of diamorphine, also known as heroin, which he intended to supply to others, on January 4 this year.

Kerr is said to have been in possession of cannabis and cannabis resin at his home on the same date.

And prosecutors further claim he was in possession of a number of counterfeit £20 notes.

Kerr was detained in connection with the alleged offences and held in custody before appearing in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court to face four charges.

He is charged with drug-dealing in relation to the heroin, as well as drug possession in relation to the cannabis and cannabis resin, and having fake notes which he knew or believed to be counterfeits.

Kerr made no plea during a behind-closed-doors hearing on Monday, where he was represented by defence solicitor Amy Spencer.

Sheriff Lindsey Kooner continued the case for prosecutors to investigate further and remanded him in custody.

No future court dates have been set.
