SINCE Allan Burns’ disappearance on Friday, the focus of the people of Kilbarchan has been on finding the family man safe.

And many locals have admitted the search has hardly left people’s minds as the days have passed with no news of a sighting.

Malcolm Campbell, of M and M Campbell Newsagents in High Barholm, said he remembers the 71-year-old and members of his family coming into the shop.

And he said his disappearance has been the main subject of conversation with his customers.

Mr Campbell told The Gazette: “I used to sometimes see Allan come into the store, but I’ve not seen him in a long time.

“I’ve mostly seen his wife come in recently.

“I know he has done a lot for charity over the years.

“Quite a lot of people have been volunteering to go out and help look for him. I get the impression there’s been a good response.
