A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a drugs swoop in Elderslie.
Lukas Plikaitis, 30, is accused of growing cannabis in breach of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and breaking the Electricity Act 1989 by bypassing a meter.
His court appearance follows a raid staged by police in Patrickbank Wynd, Elderslie, last Friday.
It is claimed the officers seized a large number of cannabis plants worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Plikaitis, of no fixed abode, made no plea to the charges against him during a behind-closed-doors hearing, where he was represented by defence lawyer Terry
Gallanagh, a partner in law firm McCusker, McElroy and Gallanagh.
The case was continued for prosecutors to investigate further.
Plikaitis was released on bail.
