POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed in a Renfrewshire street. 

The 16-year-old boy was the victim of an attack in Craigview Avenue, Johnstone, on Wednesday at around 9pm. 

The boy was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for wounds to his hands and for bruises to his head. 

He has since been released. 

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area to contact them on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers Scotland 0800 555111 where information can be given anonymously.
