A SPURNED boyfriend shared naked images of his 16-year-old former partner in a ‘revenge porn’ attack.

Lewis Reid, 21, sent intimate footage of the girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, to his friends through social media app Snapchat.

The footage – taken while the victim was having a shower – was sent around two months after they had split.

When the horrified youngster found out, she told her mum, which led to the police being alerted.

Reid, of Bridge of Weir, admitted his guilt over the breach of trust last month, pleading guilty to a charge under the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016.

The court heard the girl had been in a relationship with Reid for about four months before they split near the end of last year.

She blocked him on all social media platforms but later found out he had posted a video to his Snapchat account which had been taken two months earlier and showed her in the shower, completely naked, washing herself and trying to cover herself up.

Reid captioned the footage ‘4 laughs’ and added: “Best I can do cos the police have my phones.”

The girl was left “very disturbed and upset” as she knew several people who were friends of his on Snapchat and could have seen the footage.

Defence solicitor Joseph Murphy urged the court to free Reid on bail ahead of sentencing, as he had been held on remand since his arrest in November.

As he called for background reports to be prepared ahead of sentencing, Sheriff James Spy told Reid: “This offence is a serious one.

“I could send you to jail.”

However, when Reid returned to the dock on Friday to learn his fate, the sheriff allowed him to retain his liberty.

Mr Murphy told the court that Reid, who works in the financial industry, was trying to turn his life around.

He added: “He is a young man who has got into a lot of trouble over a very short period of time.”

Sheriff Spy placed Reid on a Community Payback Order which will see him being supervised by social workers for 15 months and carrying out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next year.

He also told Reid to attend a domestic abuse course as and when directed by his supervisor, adding: “If you let me down or the court down, you’ll be punished.”

Reid, who was not placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register, was told to return to court next month for a review of his progress.
