Kibble is hosting a public information session in Lochwinnoch tomorrow to share its plans for a specialist education centre in the former residential care home buildings of Parkhill House and Garpel House.

Senior staff from the children’s charity will outline proposals to convert the two buildings into a small primary campus with residential accommodation for young children who have been affected by adversity in their early years.

Guests can view designs, ask questions on any aspect of the development, or find out ways to work in collaboration with the charity. It is particularly keen to hear from community organisations about potential partnerships.

Bosses have said the campus will utilise the latest methods of trauma-informed therapeutic care, practising various educational techniques with a strong focus on outdoor learning and animal therapy.

Jim Gillespie, chief executive of Kibble, said: “This drop-in session is a chance for the local community to find out a bit more about our exciting plans for these two buildings in Lochwinnoch.

“The proposals are still going through the planning processes, but we’d like to share our vision for the campus and our senior team will be on-hand to answer any questions residents from the surrounding area may wish to pose.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to hear about the project in more detail or provide some feedback.”

The drop-in session will take place between 3pm and 7pm at Lesser Hall, McKillop Institute, in Main Street.
