A MAN is facing trial over claims he was caught in possession of three different types of drug at a flat in Johnstone.

John Scott Winters is said to have been busted with the illegal haul at a flat in Graham Street on May 18 last year.

Prosecutors claim 25-year-old Winters had class-A and class-C drugs in his possession.

He is said to have been caught with heroin, diazepam, which is more commonly known as Valium, and alprazolam.

Winters was not present when the case against him called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court last week.

Defence solicitor advocate Robert Kerr appeared for Winters and entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.

Sheriff James Spy then adjourned the case until May for the trial to take place, also scheduling a pre-trial hearing for April.
