A TALENTED hairdresser had a truly ‘Fantastic’ night out as she celebrated success at an awards ceremony.

Adele Quinn was thrilled to be named ‘Fantastic Hairdresser of the Year’ in the Rainbow Room International Congress Awards.

The 24-year-old crimper, from Elderslie, works at the Rainbow Room salon in Clarkston and impressed judges with her razor-sharp hairdressing skills.

Adele started her career in the industry at the age of 15 and has worked at the Clarkston salon for five years.

She said: “It was amazing to get the award. I was quite emotional on the night, as it came as quite a shock.

“It was a great night, The whole company was there, with all the employees from all the salons.

“I’ve been at Clarkston for five years but I was in the George Square branch originally and I’d been there since I was 15.

“You can go in for the awards yourself, so I made a portfolio and then it was down to the judges from Rainbow Room International to mark it. Outside judges look at the portfolios too.”

Rainbow Room International is Scotland’s largest salon group, with 12 hair and beauty salons around the country.

The annual awards ceremony took place at Airth Castle and Spa, in Stirlingshire, and included a fashion show.

There was also further success for Adele as she collected the silver prize in the Social Media category.

She said: “With that award, it was about keeping on top of the salon’s social media and my own profile through posting photographs of what I’ve done with the company on my Instagram and Facebook accounts.”

Linda Stewart, co-owner of Rainbow Room International, is full of praise for Adele and the other award winners.

She said: “I believe in each individual member of our team. Everyone is special and has the ability to constantly improve and develop.”
