A MAN suspected of several thefts by housebreaking was arrested after being chased down by police.
Officers were called out to Dobbies at Braehead Shopping Centre on Saturday regarding two recent break-ins.
After detectives scoured the surrounding area, they spotted a man hiding in the bushes and chased him down before detaining him.
More than £4,000 of alleged stolen property was found near to where the man had been hiding.
Further enquiries then led to more alleged stolen property being found at his home address.
Inspector Jim Cast, based in Johnstone, said: "The excellent work by the Braehead Retail Crime Unit and a slice of luck has meant the capture of a thief and thousands of pounds worth of stolen property recovered. A great result."
