AN award-winning folk star is set to wow audiences in Howwood next week.

Findlay Napier will join Megan Henwood for a special concert of their first collaborative album, The Story Scientists.

One of the finest songwriters and storytellers of the contemporary Scottish folk scene, Findlay Napier is an insurgent talent that comes on like a Caledonian Loudon Wainwright.

Distilled to artful acoustic guitar and Napier's remarkable voice his most recent album "Glasgow" captures the timeless essence of one of the world's great cities.

He made his name touring and recording with multi-award winning traditional Scottish folk band Back of the Moon.

Findlay is also well known as the host of Celtic Connections’ Late Night Sessions and for his Hazy Recollections concert series which showcases the very best in new roots music.

Whereas Megan won the BBC Young Folk Award in 2009, aged 20, alongside her brother Joe. Since then, she has gone on to become a formidable British talent.

Megan has received praise in numerous well-regarded publications including The Guardian, Uncut and Folk Radio as well as support from the likes of BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe, Simon Mayo, Terry Wogan and Janice Long to name but a few.

Megan is also a regular on the UK live and festival circuit.

In Autumn 2017 Megan embarked on her first sold-out headline UK tour ahead of her third and finest album to date ‘River’.

The talented duo will appear at the village’s Boarding House on Friday, March 8, from 7.30pm.
