POLICE are urging households to ensure their properties are securely locked after a spate of break-ins in Johnstone.
A property in the town’s Spateston Road was targeted on Sunday morning, where crooks escaped with cash.
Officers investigating the crime believe the door of the property was forced open between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

Elsewhere, a flat in Johnstone’s High Street was ransacked when thieves forced their way into the home and stole a television and other items.
The owner is believed to have been away at the time of the robbery - which occurred between Thursday and Saturday - and officers are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
A third house break-in occurred in Rowanlea, Kilbarchan Road, overnight between Tuesday, February 26, and Wednesday, February 27. A number of items were taken.

Police investigating the three separate incidents are yet to rule out they may be linked in some way and are once again reminding locals to ensure their properties are secure.
A police spokesperson added: “Please report any suspicious activity immediately and always ensure your property is locked at night.”
