A JOHNSTONE pensioner has appeared in court charged with performing a sex act on himself in front of a couple on Valentine’s Day.
John Mitchell McGill, 73, is said to have committed the offence in front of the man and woman on February 14 this year in Sergeantlaw Road, Paisley.
He denied the single charge against him when he appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court.
Prosecutors claim McGill, of Collier Street, broke the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 through his alleged actions.
After hearing that he maintained his innocence, Sheriff Craig Harris released McGill on bail, with special conditions in place that ban him from entering Sergeantlaw Road, Paisley, or the town’s Robertson Car Park.
A trial has been scheduled for June, with a pre-trial hearing set for May.
