PENSIONERS enjoyed some grub and a good old natter at an annual lunch in Barrhead which raised £1,000 for a worthy cause.
The event at the Brig Inn saw almost 30 guests tuck into a tasty three-course meal before taking part in a game of bingo and a sing-song.
As well as providing a fun day out, the aim was to raise cash for Accord Hospice, in Paisley, which provides palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.
Brig Inn staff member Archie McIntyre said: “The event went extremely well.
“We always raise money for Accord as it’s a charity my boss is very fond of. We’ve managed to raise £30,000 now over the years.
“The Brig would like to thank Kirsty and Allison, from McPhee’s, for a great three-course lunch.”
David McFadden, from Accord, attended the event to accept the cheque and told everyone there about the changes which have been going on at the Paisley hospice to improve care for patients.
