SMOKE was seen billowing over Johnstone town centre yesterday after a pile of car tyres were set on fire.
The fire service received a reports of a rubbish fire on a cycle path off Napier Street behind Morrisons just before 6pm yesterday.
A crew attended the incident and discovered tyres had been set alight, leading to thick black smoke rising above the supermarket.
It was the second night in succession a rubbish fire was reported in the area, with firefighters also attending an incident at a similar time the previous evening.
Both fires were extinguished and there was no one injured in either incident.
