POLICE are on the hunt for a knife wielding crook who tried to rob a store in Renfrew last night.
The man entered J&D Lifestyle in Paisley Road at around 9.30pm and demanded money from the 44-year-old shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper challenged the crook who then fled the scene empty handed.

The suspect is described as slim build with a gaunt appearance, wearing a black jacket with the hood up, a yellow scarf covering his face and grey jogging bottoms.
Detective Constable Douglas MacFarlane, Paisley Police Office, said: “Although nobody was hurt and nothing was taken, this was a distressing incident for the shopkeeper and it is vital we trace the person responsible.
“Given the time of evening this incident occurred it is likely that there will have been people in the area at the time and we would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything, or knows anything about this incident to get in touch with us.”
