An Elderslie care home was awarded a top accolade back in 2009.

Adams House, which cared for dementia patients and was run by CrossReach, came out top for care of older people in Renfrewshire, alongside Erskine Mains Home.

John McDaid, unit manager at Adams House at the time, said: “I am proud of our staff, service users and their relatives, who have worked hard together, proving that a team effort really gets the results.”

Helen Thomson, CrossReach head of service (dementia), added: “This is an acknowledgement of the first-class care being provided and the dedication of CrossReach staff to caring for people with dementia in a meaningful, person-centred way, reflecting the uniqueness of each individual.”

Local councillor John Caldwell praised the facility for its efforts to support dementia sufferers.
