A MAN has appeared in court to admit causing a rammy in Johnstone last week.

David McGregor, 34, shouted, swore and threatened violence in the town’s William Street and Canal Street on Thursday, April 4.

He was detained over his behaviour and held in police custody overnight before appearing in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday.

McGregor, of the town’s William Street, pleaded guilty to the single charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive way which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm.

Sentence on McGregor, who was on bail over two other Paisley Sheriff Court cases at the time of the offence, was deferred for background reports to be prepared and he was told to return to the dock later this month to learn his fate.
