A TEENAGER was arrested following an alleged assault at an East Renfrewshire park over the weekend.
Police have said that, at around 7pm on Saturday, a 16-year-old youth punched another teenager during a confrontation at Rouken Glen Park, in Giffnock.
The alleged victim was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for a facial injury before being released.
A police spokesman said: “A 16-year-old male was arrested for an assault at Rouken Glen Park. It was a punch that resulted in a cut to the eyebrow.
"The person required hospital treat but has since been released.
“The person responsible was detained for a court appearance.”
