MARK Brown and his friends from the Glasgow Young Onset Support Group are determined to prove that having Parkinson’s should not stop anyone from living life to the full.
The Houston man will be joining around six other people from the group to take on the Walk for Parkinson’s, which is a five-mile or one-mile stroll around Chatelherault Country Park, in South Lanarkshire, on Sunday, May 12.

Mark, who has signed up for the five-mile walk, said: “There are two main reasons for doing this. One is to raise money for our group, as we are completely self-funded, which means we need to pay for room hire and trips and other expenses.
“The second reason is to raise money for research, so we’ll be splitting the money.

“It’s going to be a very family-friendly event and people will be able to bring their partners and pets. I’ve done abseiling and skydiving before but, this time, I’ll have my feet on the ground.”
So far, the group have raised more than £1,000 between them. To make a donation, visit the page.
