A DARING chef took the plunge for charity when he abseiled down the Forth Bridge to raise money for the Erskine Home in 2005.
Kevin Scollon, 24, dropped 160 feet from the southern end of the bridge onto the beach at South Queensferry.
His brave feat was a recipe for success as he raised £540 for the organisation.
Kevin said at the time: “It was a great experience. It wasn’t as high as I thought it was going to be. I came down the rope quite fast and it was all over very quickly.
“I’m really glad I did it and want to thank everyone for their support.”
The chef, from Renfrew, had worked at Erskine for three years and had long been connected with the home, as his grandfather received respite care at the old hospital.
Colonel Martin Gibson, of Erskine Care, said: “Kevin’s bravery shows the lengths our staff will go to in support of us.”
