KIND-HEARTED kids in Johnstone have proved that coining in cash for a worthy cause is ‘neigh’ bother.
The youngsters at Fordbank Equestrian Centre took part in a sponsored hack, with riders as young as eight saddling up for the money-spinning event.
They set off in two groups, with the trek taking around three hours to complete.
An impressive total of £1,100 was raised, with the children deciding to donate all of the proceeds to the Comic Relief appeal, which supports families who are living in desperate poverty around the world.
Equestrian centre owner Fiona Ferguson thanked all of the riders for taking part in the sponsored hack and revealed she hopes to make the fundraising fun a regular event.
She told The Gazette: “All of the kids were excited to be taking part. It was a big thing for them and some were so eager to get started that they actually arrived 30 minutes early.
“The children enjoyed getting the chance to help others, which is really important.
“Our youngest rider raised £165 all by herself but they all deserve praise for contributing to such a worthy cause.”
