ONE of history’s most famous battles is set to be brought back to life, with a ‘little’ help from Renfrewshire veterans.

The Battle of Waterloo lives on in the largest ever historical table top game.

Created in partnership between the University of Glasgow and military veterans charity Waterloo Uncovered, the game consists of around 22,000 figures, each measuring 28mm.

Among those who have been painting the figures for this ambitious undertaking are veterans from The Erskine Reid MacEwan Activity Centre, in Bishopton.

Evonne McCord, Erskine’s activities co-ordinator, said: “The veterans are delighted to be taking part in this event. We have been working on the models for a number of months now and enjoying the experience of being part of history. We look forward to the main event.”

The Great Game: Waterloo Replayed will be on display on the weekend of Saturday, June 15, at the University of Glasgow. For tickets, visit Eventbrite and search ‘Waterloo.’
