COUNCIL bosses in Renfrewshire have said they will be considering the findings of the commission’s report, which they believe highlights the importance of connecting Glasgow Airport to surrounding areas.
Renfrewshire Council also highlighted how the Glasgow City Region City Deal Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside Project will help to give Renfrew another connection to the city, alongside the proposed metro link.
That project, which includes building the first opening road bridge over the river between Renfrew and Yoker, was approved by Scottish Government ministers last November. It is expected to create more than 2,300 jobs and inject £867million into the regional economy.
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “The commission’s report recognises the importance of delivering high-quality connections to Glasgow Airport and to the manufacturing innovation district being developed in Renfrewshire. We will consider its findings.”
