A DRUG addict who raided a pound shop must wait to learn her fate.

Debbie Shankland, 38, targeted the Poundland store at the Piazza mall, in Paisley, on November 22 last year, stealing gift bags and washing detergent.

She was on bail at the time of the theft, having been released over another Paisley Sheriff Court case on October 26 last year.

When the Poundland case called in the court this week for a pre-trial hearing, Shankland pleaded guilty to the charge against her.

The court heard that Shankland, whose address was given as the Blue Triangle homeless centre, in Victoria Drive East, Renfrew, has a hearing in August in connection with a Drug Treatment and Testing Order (DTTO).

Sheriff Seith Ireland adjourned proceedings until August for the shoplifting case to call before Sheriff Tom McCartney, along with the DTTO case.
