CASH was stolen from a popular Bridge of Weir restaurant during a break-in.
Police are on the hunt for a thief, who is said to have been wearing a tracksuit and had his face covered, following the incident at The Coach House in the early hours of Friday morning.
When officers arrived at the scene after an alarm had been activated, they found a window had been smashed and a quantity of cash had been taken.
CCTV footage has since shown a man wearing a tracksuit with his face covered could be responsible.
Sergeant Barry McNaught, who is based in Johnstone, said: “Bridge of Weir would have been very quiet at this time but, if anyone saw this man in the area, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information should call 101.
