MEMBERS of a Johnstone dementia support group enjoyed a fun day on the water as they indulged in a well-earned break.
Organised by the Johnstone Dementia Friendly Group, dementia patients and their carers were treated to a trip down the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Participants came from all across Renfrewshire as they set off from Kirkintilloch before making their way to the outskirts of Bishopbriggs.

The group held two trips in conjunction with the Seagull Trust and hopes to plan more events in the near future, including a sponsored walk around Millport.
Karen McShane, founder of the group, said it was great to see how relaxed everyone was on the trips.
She told The Gazette: “I was absolutely delighted watching the pleasure people had on the trip.
“One of the carers even said it was the most relaxed they had seen their patient for a long time.

“I can’t get away with the generosity of people who are supporting the group.
“Everybody just loved the trip and hadn’t known what to expect.”
The group hopes to help local businesses understand the needs of people living with dementia and their carers.
