A CAMPAIGN to install lifesaving defibrillators at strategic locations across Barrhead has taken a major step forward.
The Levern Valley Defibrillator Community Partnership (LVDCP) has put seven public access defibrillators in place over the past four months.
Now the charity, which is being supported by Barrhead Rotary, has confirmed plans to install at least another eight devices within the next six months.
Delivering an update to the latest meeting of Barrhead Rotary, LVDCP chairman Douglas Yates said:
“We intend to install these before the end of this year and have received permission from property owners to carry this out.
“We are indebted to Field Electrics, of Neilston, for the expert way in which they have fitted the cabinets housing the defibrillators. Michael Docherty and his staff are a delight to work with.”
