STRIKE action which was set to take place at Glasgow Airport tomorrow has been suspended.

It comes amid confirmation from the airport’s owners AGS that more talks will take place between bosses and union officials.

Unite the union initially said workers including airport security officers, airport fire safety, airfield operations officers and engineering technicians would strike tomorrow.

The action is part of a long running dispute over pensions and pay.

A Glasgow Airport spokesman said: “Unite has confirmed it has suspended the planned industrial action for Wednesday 3 July in order for further talks to take place.

“Industrial action is still planned for Friday 5 July between 9.30am and 1.30pm during which our robust, compliant and safe contingencies will be in place to ensure passengers continue to be unaffected by the actions of Unite.”
