The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and later extinguished the blaze which engulfed parts of a black Mini Cooper and is now believed to have been set deliberately.
It is understood the blaze was discovered when a neighbour heard a car speed off from the scene and looked out their window.
Graffiti was also discovered by detectives near the scene but it is not clear if it is connected or not.
