TOOLS worth an estimated £3,000 were snatched from a car in Houston.
Police are investigating the incident which happened in Houston Road between 2am and 3.30am today.
Saws, hedge cutters and climbing equipment were all taken.
Inspector Jim Cast, from the Renfrewshire community policing team, said the theft follows a trend of tools and plant machinery being stolen across the area in recent weeks.
He said: "This seems to be part of a pattern of crimes where tools have been stolen. Bishopton, Linwood, Renfrew and Houston have all been targeted.
"We would like to urge the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements. If you do own any equipment or machinery, please make sure it is secure."
Anyone with any information about the Houston theft should call 101.
