A VULNERABLE man suffering from Parkinson's was found shivering in the woods at the weekend by police.

The 67-year-old man was reported missing on Sunday after he went out for a walk and did not return.

An extensive three-hour search was launched, with the Coastguard helicopter and dogs sent out.

The man was eventually located at around 9pm suffering from hyperthermia in some woodland near Erskine.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is now recovering.

Inspector Jim Cast, of the Renfrewshire community policing team, said: "This was a first class piece of teamwork by all concerned.

"This type of work often goes unrecognised by is a crucial part of what we do."
