TWO cyclists were taken to hospital following a freak accident in Johnstone.

The men, aged 50 and 62, collided with each other on the cycle path near the town’s Napier Street at around 5.30pm on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where it was established the younger man had suffered a heart attack.

Both men were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, where they were understood to be in a stable condition yesterday and expected to make a full recovery.
